Curriculum Development and Revision
Policy:
I. Responsibility for the development and revision of the curriculum rests with the faculty.
II. The Dean of Nursing and Faculty Chair have responsibility for ensuring the curriculum is directly related to and appropriate to the mission and goals of the College and is in compliance with the requirements of appropriate agencies.

Created: July 29, 2009, Revised: January 17, 2011 to reflect revised organizational chart, December 1, 2012 to eliminate The School of Design, June 16, 2016 to change term of NFO to PFO, and to streamline the explanation of the proposal review process.
Procedures:
I. All new curriculum proposals and any proposals for substantial revisions to existing curricula are submitted to the Curriculum and Outcomes Committee, a permanent subcommittee of the Platt Faculty Organization (PFO) whose membership includes full and part-time faculty. The PFO Chair also serves as the Chair of the Curriculum and Outcomes Committee unless otherwise agreed upon by the Dean of Nursing.
II. Curriculum revision are developed by the Curriculum and Outcomes Committee and submitted to the Dean of Nursing and the Faculty Chair.
III. The proposals, along with recommendations for the approval or disapproval, are submitted to the President who ensures that the changes meet state agency and accreditation standards.
IV. After all internal and external approvals are received, the curriculum revisions and/or additions are forwarded to the Registrar for entry into the course inventory.
