Exit Process
Bidding Farewell...
What Information do you need to report to Platt College?
Outcomes assessment is the process of collecting evidence that indicates the extent to which your nursing program achieves its intentions. Assessment uses a feedback loop that involves identifying desired results; collecting and analyzing relevant information (data); and then using the findings to make changes to the program if deemed necessary. At Platt College, we collect what we call outcome indices from both graduates and employers. These indices include NCLEX pass rates, graduate program satisfaction, employment verification, and employer satisfaction.
The information you (or your employer) provides is used to:
- Evaluate effectiveness and alignment of the nursing program curricula
- Improve the nursing program and its standing
- Inform planning and decision making
- Understand the impact of program changes
- Highlight nursing program successes
- Provide evidence of need when requesting resources
- Supply data to accrediting agencies and regulatory bodies to demonstrate program effectiveness
- Advise students with a valid and continuously evolving set of criteria for success in employment.
In order to graduate from Platt College, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 184.5 quarter credit hours of approved course work for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. Applicable transfer credit will be included in the calculation.
- Pass all nursing and cognate courses with a minimum GPA of “C” and maintain a 2.75 GPA.
- A grade of 2.75 “C” or above must be achieved in every nursing course in order to progress in the nursing program. Any grade below 75 will not be rounded up. For specific information about the grading system, please refer to Policy 02:06:00 Uniform Grading. Letter grades of “D” or “F” in any nursing or cognate courses will constitute a course failure and the student will be required to repeat the course to achieve a passing grade at his/her own expense.

The Information Collected on Graduates Chart outlines what information is gathered on graduates, the timeline for information gathered, and how graduates will be contacted regarding submission of the information.
